Thank You 2019 / A year in review

Two thousand nineteen

Another trip around the sun is over and like every year I take these days to slow down and figure out what I have learned from all the experiences, good or not, that I have gotten to live this past year.

This year is particularly special because a decade is also coming to an end and from the very beginning it has been the one with more life-changing experiences than I’ve had in my entire life. Getting married to the person I love, moving to a new country (and everything that comes with it), making new friends and adapting to a new culture and keeping my passion for traveling, experiencing the birth of our first son and two years later our twins. But the new decade also brought the opportunity to start over and change my career in finance for something I found more meaningful, more personal, and more exciting. I found in my camera the best tool to communicate and express my thoughts and feelings. With my photography, I have been able to tell stories but also keep my creativity evolving and alive.

During this time I’ve been fortunate to document one of the most important days in the lives of so many people and for that, I will never have enough words to express my gratitude for their trust and for letting me tell their stories. Knowing that my images will be treasured by future generations, by some who are not even yet in this world is a great responsibility but also an honor. Creating part of the visual heritage of families is something I take very seriously and keeps me inspired.

I’ve also been lucky to work with many businesses, organizations, artists and passionate members of my community. For letting me be part of their plans and growth I’ll be forever thankful.

I have so many things I would like to share but I would like to finish with a big thank you to every person that has supported me during these years, especially my wife Anna for being next to me during all this time, showing me her love and for believing in me. Big gratitude to my parents, family and friends for being there when I needed them and finally to my kids for teaching me every day that love has no end, that love keeps growing and it’s the best feeling someone can experience and I need to be thankful every day for being able to hug them and kiss them.

A new year and decade are about to start. I have no idea what will become of my life during this time but I’m thankful and excited to receive it with optimism and excitement. New adventures and challenges are about to start. 2020, my mind and heart are open for what you are about to bring and I’m just happy to be alive.
